9 Square Design

This project was done by the 5th graders. They are given 3 practice squares. (3 inch square papers) They design a different design on each square. They choose the one they like the best, this will be their pattern. They are then given nine "3 inch square papers" to copy their pattern onto. They then choose one color marker to do the design. When all nine papers are completed, they then arrange them on a 12 inch square black paper (leaving a border). They arrange them before gluing onto the paper. They are not allowed to arrange the squares in the same position. Each artwork is unique and we love to see the final results.

The finished artwork

Some students taped their pattern on the window to trace their pattern.

                                               Each artwork is unique.

This project always turns out great.
