Van Gogh Bullentin Board

We learned about the artist Vincent Van Gogh. Kindergarten students painted these moons inspired by Vincent Van Gogh's Starry Night painting.

I love the way they turned out.

The students really enjoyed this project.

Kindergarten's Oil Pastel Pumpkins

Kindergarten's Oil Pastel Pumpkins

Every year I introduce oil pastels to the kindergarten students with this pumpkin project.  The students want to draw the lines in the pumpkin with straight lines. I demonstrate on the board how we will draw the pumpkin using curved lines. I also demonstrate how we will use a paper towel to blend the colors once they have colored it in with the pastels.

Here are a few of the pumpkins.

This student did a great job blending the pastels.

See the curved lines in the pumpkin.

Some finished Pumpkins:

This is a great lesson for kindergarten students.

Kindergarten's Torn Paper Owl

Kindergarten's Torn Paper Owl

The students drew an owl onto their black background paper; a circle for the head and an oval for the body. They then cut out a green branch, a triangle nose, two circles for eyes, and the claws.

The students then torn four different shades of browns and tans for the feathers on the owl.

The students then started gluing the feathers onto the owl.

                      Some Finished Owls

The kindergarten students did a great job on this project.
